Basketball Game Preview: Barnesville Shamrocks vs. Linsly Cadets

The Barnesville Shamrocks will venture away from home to challenge the Linsly Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Barnesville will be strutting in after a win while Linsly will be coming in after a loss.

Barnesville is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing St. Clairsville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Barnesville blew St. Clairsville out of the water with a 49-11 final score. The Shamrocks pushed the score to 35-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Linsly faced Morgantown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Linsly took a blow against Morgantown, falling 75-35. The Cadets haven't had much luck with the Mohigans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Linsly now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Barnesville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Barnesville came up short against Linsly in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 62-50. Can Barnesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
