Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Newark Memorial). They put the hurt on the Irvington Vikings with a sharp  30-4 victory on Tuesday. The  win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.
 Caitlyn Rose made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Rose was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring four  runs while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  RBI (three).
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ariana Romo, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven  RBI, four  runs,  and one  double. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Mahlyah Sao, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Newark Memorial  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. They are  a perfect 7-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Newark Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Irvington,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-6.
 Newark Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  9-4  win against Moreau Catholic on the 16th. As for Irvington, they will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 29th.
