Volleyball Recap: Springstead Takes a Loss

If Springstead was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Central on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-18, 24-26, 25-14.

Paloma Verde paced Springstead's offense, picking up 12 kills. Verde got some help from Mackenna Chambers and her 20 assists. Kiersten Caamano controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Springstead's record now sits at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springstead will challenge Weeki Wachee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Sunlake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
