Softball Recap: American Fork Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Emery, American Fork was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Payson Lions 8-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Cavemen as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Miah Walters, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sarah Jensen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

American Fork's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

American Fork has already played their next game (against South Sevier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Payson, they will challenge Timpanogos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season.
