Softball Recap: Fitchburg Takes a Loss

Fitchburg couldn't beat Leominster on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Blue Raiders came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 20-5. The Blue Raiders have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ella Kitchin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Fitchburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Leominster, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fitchburg will challenge Maynard at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leominster, they will head out to challenge Shepherd Hill Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
