Basketball Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

Wheeling won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against the Prospect Knights, falling 48-23. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Wheeling now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Prospect, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Wheeling won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wheaton North at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheaton North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Wheeling likes a good challenge. As for Prospect, they and Batavia will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
