Baseball Recap: North Hunterdon Comes Up Short

North Hunterdon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Hunterdon Central Red Devils. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Alex Famolari put in work no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Famolari was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Famolari wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Christian Zamrok, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

North Hunterdon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hunterdon Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, North Hunterdon will square off against Don Bosco Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hunterdon Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Phillipsburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Devils 2.2, the Stateliners 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
