Basketball Recap: Dakota Little's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Silver Stage over Sierra Lutheran

Silver Stage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 38-16 to the Sierra Lutheran Falcons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-26 two weeks ago.

Several Nighthawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dakota Little, who posted seven points in addition to six blocks and five steals. Little is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Kassandra Canales was another key player, putting up nine blocks.

Sierra Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Friend, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 12 points and five boards. That's the most points Friend has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rukhsana Khan, who earned five points along with four steals and three blocks.

Silver Stage's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Sierra Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-11 record this season.

Silver Stage has already played their next game, a 54-19 loss against Battle Mountain on the 31st. As for Sierra Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-29 defeat against West Wendover on the 31st.
