Basketball Recap: Liberty Tech Magnet Takes a Loss

Liberty Tech Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of the Jackson North Side Indians. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Indians are ranked 61st).

Jackson North Side's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Woods, who posted 17 points. The game was Woods' ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javonte Smith, who scored 13 points.

Liberty Tech Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jackson North Side, their record is now 10-1.

Liberty Tech Magnet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Jackson North Side, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-42 win against Covington on the 26th.
