Baseball Recap: Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Portland Christian

Christian Academy won the last time they faced Portland Christian and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Eagles. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Caleb Huguley, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Huguley has posted since back in April of 2024. Danny McDonald was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Portland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Christian Academy will face off against Kentucky Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Portland Christian, they will challenge Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
