Football Game Preview: Cheverus Stags vs. Deering Rams

The Cheverus Stags are taking a road trip to challenge the Deering Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cheverus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Marshwood, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Cheverus was ranked 16th). The Stags were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 23-22 to the Hawks. The Stags haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Deering won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Lawrence 22-21.

Cheverus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Deering, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Cheverus took a serious blow against Deering when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 35-0. Can the Stags avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
