Baseball Recap: Athenian Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Athenian faced off against Redwood Christian on Friday. The Owls lost 10-4 to the Eagles. The Owls have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Athenian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Jern, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Athenian now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Redwood Christian, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Athenian and Redwood Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Owls see the field they'll take on Cornerstone Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Redwood Christian, their break will end when they face Liberty Ranch at 12:30 p.m. on the 30th.
