Softball Recap: Lake Cormorant Takes a Loss

Lake Cormorant lost against Center Hill last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lake Cormorant fell just short of Center Hill by a score of 3-2. Lake Cormorant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatham Hamberlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Cormorant saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raegan Boswood, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Emma Arnold also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lake Cormorant's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Center Hill, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Cormorant will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Center Hill, they will take on Grenada at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
