Soccer Recap: Patton Takes a Loss

Patton lost against Polk County back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 5-1 to the Wolverines. Patton were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

This is the second loss in a row for Patton and nudges their season record down to 10-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2-1 Hendersonville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80.5% over those games). As for Polk County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Patton will venture away from home to square off against McDowell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Patton will be up against McDowell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.7 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Polk County, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Hendersonville at 6:45 p.m.
