Volleyball Recap: Conestoga Cougars vs. Raymond Central Mustangs
Conestoga lost against Raymond Central last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Mustangs.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16.
Maggie Fiene paced Conestoga's offense, picking up 16 kills. Fiene got some help from Ayla Garrett and her 22 assists. Garrett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Raymond Central found their leader in sophomore Julia Schultz, who had 15 digs and two assists. Schultz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Conestoga's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Raymond Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season.
Conestoga has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Louisville on the 27th. As for Raymond Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Fillmore Central on the 27th.
