Basketball Recap: North Davidson Takes a Loss

North Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 74-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ledford Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Panthers are ranked 149th).

When it comes to explaining why North Davidson lost, don't look at Coen Miller. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 16 on his way to 23 points and three blocks. Miller McKnight was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Ledford was led to victory by Adam Grier and Bryson Allred. Grier dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 boards, and 13 assists, while Allred went 8 for 11 en route to 18 points. With that strong performance, Grier is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Peele, who posted ten points and six boards.

North Davidson now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Ledford, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

North Davidson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-50 victory against Montgomery Central on the 28th. Ledford has also already played their next game, a 59-56 defeat against Central Davidson on the 28th.
