Preview: Tillamook Cheesemakers vs. Astoria Fishermen
Tillamook is 2-8 against Astoria since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tillamook Cheesemakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Astoria Fishermen at 7:00 p.m. Tillamook has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
Last Monday, Tillamook suffered a rough 76-51 defeat at the hands of Scappoose. While losing is never fun, Tillamook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Scappoose is ranked 96th).
Meanwhile, Astoria unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Seaside 65-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tillamook dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Astoria, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
Tillamook was taken down by Astoria 80-45 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will Tillamook have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
