Basketball Game Preview: Lenoir City Panthers vs. Loudon Redskins

The Lenoir City Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Loudon Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Lenoir City came up short against Heritage and fell 63-50. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loudon). They breezed by Greenback to the tune of 85-17 on Friday. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Cherokees are ranked 418th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loudon pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Lenoir City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Lenoir City couldn't quite finish off Loudon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 58-55. Can Lenoir City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
