Deer Valley waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Edison Vikings.

Deer Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Julian Mendoza paced Deer Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Mendoza got some help from Rylan Cristobal and his 16 assists. Cristobal was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Deer Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Edison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Deer Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Stockton Christian on the 29th. As for Edison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Monterey Trail on the 29th.
