Basketball Game Preview: North Newton Spartans vs. River Forest Ingots

The North Newton Spartans and the River Forest Ingots will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, North Newton had to suffer through a 63-22 loss at the hands of Frontier. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, River Forest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 52-47 to Marquette Catholic.

North Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for River Forest, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

North Newton was able to grind out a solid victory over River Forest when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 43-32. Does North Newton have another victory up their sleeve, or will River Forest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
