Basketball Game Preview: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Ridgemont Golden Gophers

The Vanlue Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Ridgemont Golden Gophers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanlue has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 11.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-35, which was the final score in Vanlue's tilt against Leipsic on Friday.

The losing side was boosted by Owen Roszman, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Wallen, who scored five points and five boards.

Ridgemont has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Van Buren.

Vanlue's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Ridgemont, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Vanlue was dealt a bruising 72-29 defeat at the hands of Ridgemont in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Vanlue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
