Basketball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Lake Mills L-Cats, falling 84-60. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the L-Cats are ranked 36th).

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Lake Mills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Poynette at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Mills, they will head out on the road to take on Lakeside Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
