Basketball Recap: Middlebridge Takes a Loss

Middlebridge played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 53-12 loss at the hands of Rhode Island School for the Deaf. The Owl were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-2.

Rhode Island School for the Deaf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaiden Francis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Francis has scored at least a third of Rhode Island School for the Deaf's points. Another player making a difference was Amaya Rodriguez, who went 6 for 12 en route to 12 points and six steals.

Middlebridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rhode Island School for the Deaf, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Middlebridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rhode Island School for the Deaf has already played their next match (against Highlander Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
