Football Recap: Madison County Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Madison County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 21-14 win over the Hawthorne Hornets. This was payback for the Cowboys, who suffered a 22-13 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Hawthorne lost, don't look at Keenon Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown. Johnson's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 107 rushing yards.

Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Hawthorne, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.
