Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern managed to slip by Western the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Tuesday. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Northwestern was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Western work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 26-24.

Ayla Jackson paced Northwestern's offense, picking up seven kills. Jackson got some help from Tessa Ortman and her 20 assists. Ortman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Brynley Erb was the offensive standout of the match as she had 24 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last eight contests.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Western, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Northwestern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Taylor on the 2nd. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Hamilton Heights on the 4th.
