Soccer Game Preview: Pattonville vs. Parkway North

The Pattonville Pirates will head out to challenge the Parkway North Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pattonville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monday just wasn't the day for Pattonville's offense. They came up short against Howell North on Monday, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Pattonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Howell North are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Parkway North made sure to put some goals up on the board against University City on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for Parkway North, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

Pattonville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Parkway North, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.

Pattonville beat Parkway North by a goal in their previous matchup back in April, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
