Basketball Game Preview: Soddy Daisy Trojans vs. Ooltewah Owls

Soddy Daisy is 1-9 against Ooltewah since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Soddy Daisy Trojans will take on the Ooltewah Owls at 6:00 p.m. Soddy Daisy will be strutting in after a win while Ooltewah will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Soddy Daisy was able to grind out a solid victory over Chattanooga Central, taking the game 52-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-26, which was the final score in Ooltewah's tilt against East Hamilton on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 78th).

This is the second loss in a row for Ooltewah and nudges their season record down to 4-13. As for Soddy Daisy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.

Soddy Daisy came up short against Ooltewah in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 65-53. Can Soddy Daisy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
