Volleyball Recap: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate
Desert Pines managed to slip by Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Jaguars came up short against the Pirate on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirate earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Desert Pines was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cesar Velasco, who had eight digs and three aces. Aukusitino Afoa was another key player, getting 13 digs.
