Soccer Game Preview: Monett vs. Clinton

The Monett Cubs will head out on the road to challenge the Clinton Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monett has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monett is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against New Covenant Academy on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Clinton unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Summit Christian Academy. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Clinton's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Monett, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
