Volleyball Preview: Cascade Cougars vs. Stayton Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Cascade Cougars and the Stayton Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cascade is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Crook County, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (Cascade was ranked 25th). Cascade took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crook County on Saturday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Crook County scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Stayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Melba.

Stayton was not held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24.

Cascade's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Stayton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
