The Canterbury Cougars fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 51-46 W over North Fort Myers on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Canterbury, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, North Fort Myers saw an underclassman step up: Isaiah Newson scored 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Newson scored a full 52.2% of North Fort Myers' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Makar, who scored eight points.
Canterbury's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for North Fort Myers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
