Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Warriors vs. St. Marys Blue Devils

Trinity Christian is 0-4 against St. Marys since May of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will welcome the Blue Devils. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.6 runs per game this season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Trinity Christian's offense. They fell just short of Clay-Battelle by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Marys, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let Notre Dame get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

St. Marys saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Powell, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Another was Daniel Winland, who earned one RBI and two stolen bases.

St. Marys' win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Trinity Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.8 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Marys struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Trinity Christian suffered a grim 23-0 defeat to St. Marys in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
