Baseball Recap: Kearsarge Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Kearsarge hadn't done well against Fall Mountain recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Wildcats. The Cougars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024 (when they won 9-1).

Shea Curley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan St Clair, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kearsarge is 2-1 when St Clair posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-13 otherwise. Jackson Cote was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Kearsarge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Kearsarge's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Fall Mountain, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5.
