Basketball Game Preview: Central School Pioneers vs. Claiborne Academy Rebels

Central School hasn't had much luck against Claiborne Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Central School Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Claiborne Academy Rebels at 6:00 p.m.

Central School saw some tournament action on Thursday. They received a blow as they fell 45-26 to Adams County Christian.

Despite the loss, Central School got top-tier performance from Amanda Seekford, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Seekford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Averett, who posted two points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Claiborne Academy beat Prairie View Academy 34-30 two weeks ago.

Claiborne Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Central School, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Central School took a serious blow against Claiborne Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 51-19. Can Central School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
