Football Recap: Chattanooga Prep Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chattanooga Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 33-26 win over the Hixson Wildcats on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Sentinels' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chattanooga Prep's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cedric Baulding, E'Monte Thornton, and Jeremiah Hodge, who each picked up one sack apiece. Chattanooga Prep got some further help from Baulding: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Ryan Burney and Jake Pollock certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Burney picked up 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Pollock threw for 236 yards and four TDs. Burney's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards.

Chattanooga Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hixson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Chattanooga Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-6 defeat against Milan on the 13th. As for Hixson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-19 win against Loudon on the 12th.
