On Wednesday Nicolas Ortiz didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. The effort also marked the fewest earned runs (zero) Ortiz has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with more than five strikeouts. On the season, he has an ERA of 1.26 over 16.7 innings pitched.
