Basketball Preview: Munroe Bobcats vs. FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers
Munroe has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. FAMU DRS took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Munroe, who comes in off a win.
Even though Munroe has not done well against the Spartans recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Munroe managed a 54-48 win over the Spartans.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for FAMU DRS, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-39 loss to the Lions on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for FAMU DRS in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kennedy Middleton, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailyn Forbes, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Munroe's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-15. As for FAMU DRS, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Munroe strolled past the Baby Rattlers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 45-28. Will Munroe repeat their success, or do the Baby Rattlers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
