Softball Recap: Great Crossing Starts off Right with Win over Lexington Catholic

Great Crossing had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Catholic Knights 4-3. This was payback for Great Crossing, who suffered a 4-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brenna Parker spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Great Crossing's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Collins, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lexington Catholic's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Great Crossing wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Grant County on the 19th. As for Lexington Catholic, they have also already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Franklin County on the 20th.
