Recap: Excelsior Springs Tigers vs. Plattsburg Tigers
This season hasn't been kind to the Excelsior Springs Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a serious blow against Plattsburg on Wednesday, falling 58-30. While losing is never fun, Excelsior Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Plattsburg is ranked 86th).
Michael "isaia" Howard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds for Plattsburg. The matchup was Howard's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Langton, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals.
Excelsior Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Plattsburg, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Excelsior Springs will be home for the holidays to greet Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plattsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood is on a five-game streak of home wins, Plattsburg a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
