Kickapoo strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Hillcrest Hornets by a score of 53-40. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Hornets are ranked 62nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillcrest lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camryn Summers, who posted 11 points and six boards. Serenity Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kickapoo's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Hillcrest, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Looking ahead, Kickapoo will welcome Willard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillcrest, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-49 defeat against Nixa on the 30th.
