Football Recap: White River Skates Past Auburn Mountainview with Ease + How To Watch

White River won against Fife last Thursday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Hornets blew past the Auburn Mountainview Lions 48-3. Fans of the Hornets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Chaz Strickland looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 202 yards and four TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes.

White River's run defense was locked in: Auburn Mountainview could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Kovi Poulin stood above the rest. He picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles. White River didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.7.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ray Palmer, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The win (which was White River's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.7 points this season. As for Auburn Mountainview, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

White River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 55-0 win against Beamer on the 26th. As for Auburn Mountainview, they have also already played their next matchup, a 31-20 victory against Jefferson on the 26th.
