Recap: Miami Stingarees vs. Doral Academy Firebirds
The Miami Stingarees''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Doral Academy at home and fell 42-3. Miami was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
Doral Academy found their leader in underclassman Dannell Wesby, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Wesby was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Antelo, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Miami has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Doral Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Miami will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Doral Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
