The East Davidson Golden Eagles will square off against the Salisbury Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Davidson is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
It was a Battle of the Birds when East Davidson challenged Forsyth Home Educators on Monday. The Golden Eagles walked away with an 8-5 win over the Hawks.
ALYSSA STALEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Kenzi Cribb was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Natalie Holt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Salisbury, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Lexington on Monday. Considering the Hornets have won nine matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashley Yang made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Yang was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dasmine Ambers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emma Blackwell, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Salisbury hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Salisbury has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for East Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. East Davidson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .436. However, it's not like Salisbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Davidson took their victory against Salisbury in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 22-11 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
