Hoggard came tearing into Monday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Topsail Pirates. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Hoggard's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while Topsail are ranked 45th).

Hoggard's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 70 goals over those 12 games. As for Topsail, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8-5.

Hoggard didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 win against New Hanover on the 7th. As for Topsail, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Laney on the 7th.
