Soccer Recap: Gibson County Comes Up Short

Gibson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Jackson Central Merry Cougars, falling 5-2. Ayden Finney was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Hunter Pettie and Finney scored both of Gibson County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Gibson County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2. As for Jackson Central Merry, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Gibson County will host McEwen at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson Central Merry, they will venture away from home to take on Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
