Soccer Recap: Watauga Comes Up Short

Watauga lost against Forbush back in August of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pioneers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Watauga came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Forbush are ranked 161st).

Watauga's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-3. As for Forbush, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watauga will face off against Ardrey Kell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ardrey Kell will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Watauga surely won't give up without a fight. As for Forbush, they will be playing at home against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
