Doral Academy Red Rock is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Legacy.

Doral Academy Red Rock took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Southeast Career Tech on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Miners didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Roadrunners 25-20 in the first set.

Sunrise Mountain took Southeast Career Tech into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-18, 25-16, 16-25, 15-13.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Doral Academy Red Rock skirted past Sunrise Mountain 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Doral Academy Red Rock repeat their success, or does Sunrise Mountain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
