Soccer Recap: Western Comes Up Short

Western and Spanish River squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Western had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spanish River Sharks by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wildcats haven't been shut out since back in November of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Western and nudges their season record down to 9-8-1. As for Spanish River, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-4.

Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spanish River, they will challenge Stoneman Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
