Softball Recap: Kings Knights vs. Edgewood Cougars
It's playoff time, and Kings had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Edgewood Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Friday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 games by seven runs or more this season.
Neely McElhaney tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexis Fera was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Titler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Kings kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
