Basketball Recap: KIPP College Prep Takes Down Ranked DC International

On Friday, KIPP College Prep faced DC International in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The KIPP College Prep Panthers came out on top against the DC International Dragons by a score of 38-30. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 64-19 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Audrey Hailes and Diatou Diop certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hailes posted ten points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Diop had seven points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Diop a new career-high.

KIPP College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for DC International, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP College Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Friendship Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. DC International will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against SEED DC at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
